Defi-Link VSD X is a product to display vehicle information such as speed and engine speed on the Target Screen(the exclusive reflecting plate).
The projection technology is called “Heads Up Display(HUD).” VSD is our original technology focusing on compactness and universality utilizing the HUD technology.
By connecting this product to the Defi-Link System, oil temperature, water temperature, oil pressure, fuel pressure, and exhaust temperature can be displayed other than speed and engine speed.
The production of Defi-Link VSD X has been ended in April, 2010.
VSD is our product to display the vehicle information on the windshield by reflection. The projection technology is called “Head Up Display(HUD).” HUD allows drivers to keep line of sight forward as shown in the figure below and recognize the image(speed and/or other information) projected on the windshield efficiently and quickly. The HUD technology is often found in cockpits of jets, helicopters and tanks.
VSD is our original technology focusing on compactness and universality utilizing the HUD technology. By installing it, drivers can view the information on the vehicle’s windshield without looking at dashboard instruments.

The brightness is adjusted automatically. (A dim sensor is included in the product.)
Auto dimmer mode and manual dimmer mode are available. When the auto dimmer mode is selected, the brightness of display is adjusted automatically depending on the outside light.
The switch panel is illuminated with LEDs to make operation in the dark easy.
The structure of the new mounting bracket allows angle adjustment freely.

If you want the data which sensors are not connected, the sensor sets(sensor and sensor wire) needs to be purchased. Sensor sets are sold as optional parts. Sensor sets for oil pressure, fuel pressure, oil temperature, water temperature, and exhaust temperature are available.

Data on turbo or boost cannot be displayed.
Warning values can be set discretionary. Double warning of engine speed is also settable by equipping two LED indicators.
Connected sensor data and speed data can be recorded for a maximum of 3 minutes. The data can be replayed later.
When a non-displayed value exceeds the set value, the display changes from selected data to the current warning value automatically.
Opening and ending modes are performed after the ignition key is turned on and off.
The brightness is adjusted automatically.
Auto dimmer mode and manual dimmer mode are available. When the auto dimmer mode is selected, the brightness of display is adjusted automatically depending on the outside light. The brightness can be selected from 3stages.
When the manual dimmer mode is selected, the brightness of display is fixed. The brightness can be selected from 5 stages.
When a state with a speed of 0km/h or 0MPH continues for more than 10 seconds, special display is played.
Oil temperature or water temperature is displayed until the temperature reaches the set value.
Signals of oil temperature or water temperature can be output when it reaches the set value. It’s possible to operate a warning lamp or a motor when a temperature reaches the set value.
Maximum values which sensors are connected are displayed. If speed is recorded, the minimum value can be displayed.
D.C.Unit(exclusive unit for Defi-Link Display VSD CONCEPT) has 3 LINK connectors for Defi-Link Meters.

The tachometer can operate with hybrid vehicles and rev limited vehicles by cutting the ignition. (Only if the product is used without linking to the Defi-Link System or used with linking to the Defi-Link control Unit II Version 2.0.)
