Water temperature gauge is a meter that controls the temperature of the coolant in a water-cooled engine.
It is an important factor in determining the proper driving conditions and combustion efficiency of the vehicle, so continuing to drive without checking the water temperature can lead to overheating due to overload. In the worst-case scenario, this could cause engine damage.
If the water temperature exceeds 105°C due to high load while driving on a circuit, you should allow the engine to cool down. Please note that if you suddenly stop driving without cooling the engine, the water temperature may rise again.
For example, if you replace your radiator with a large capacity (two or three layer) radiator, and the water temperature is kept between 65°C and 85°C when driving at full throttle, your engine will be able to maintain good condition without overheating. Therefore, the safety control function of the engine ECU will not operate. You can visualize the performance check after part replacement, making it even more enjoyable to use.
For normal vehicles, if the temperature does not exceed 100℃ during normal operation, it is within the normal range. (This varies by car model, so please contact your dealer for details.)
Defi’s water temperature gauge can display from 20℃. It can also be effectively used in situations where the warm-up operation ends when the water temperature is around 40℃.
ADVANCE FD and Defi Sports Display F have a warm-up mode that changes to a blue display when the water temperature is lower than the set temperature. This can be used as a guide for warm-up operation.

We are sometimes asked, “The gauge moves differently from the genuine water temperature gauge, so isn’t the accuracy poor?” To prevent users from feeling uneasy, genuine water temperature gauges are set so that the pointer does not move beyond the center of the scale to the higher temperature side until the temperature reaches a dangerous level. The Defi meter places great importance on precision, so there will be differences in the movement of the pointer of a genuine meter, but please consider that it shows a more accurate value.
