Production of Field Compass was ended.

The field compass provides a head up virtual compass display, both in alphanumeric format and in the form of a fluorescent light tube directional indicator. The control unit for the compass allows the alphanumeric display to provide readings based on an eight point or a sixteen point compass display.

The fluorescent light tube directional indicator provides a display based on sixteen compass points. The compass includes modes that allow the instrument to provide a continuous display of vehicle direction or a display of a fixed bearing regardless of the orientation of the vehicle. The instrument also has sensors to measure and display outside temperature and the vehicle voltage.

The Field Compass uses the NS HUD (Head Up Display) technology.
This product is a combination of compass, voltmeter and external temperature meters.
It displays the vehicle moving direction and compass bearing, using earth magnetic sensor.
The northern bearing and movement direction are displayed at the same time. It is possible to select between 8 and 16 bearings. Furthermore, it is possible to set desired direction in a simple form of navigation.
It has a function to correct the magnetic environment of the vehicle, making it possible to display the bearing accurately.
An external temperature gauge shows the temperature outside the vehicle. External temperature is useful for forecasting road freezing.
A digital voltmeter shows the condition of the battery at a glance. It is useful for monitoring in order to prevent battery drain.
A super bright fluorescent tube is employed for ease of visibility.
It is possible to adjust to desired level of brightness to match the brightness outside.
A high quality memory element is employed. Mode settings and correctness values are stored almost forever.
For portability, the display unit and control unit are separate.




MODE SWITCHING
  If the MODE switch is pressed once, the mode will change.


The external temperature gauge and voltmeter mode display the analog compass.

COMPASS MODE
  1. Compass pointer(North Bearing) Mode
*The compass pointer always points toward north regardless of vehicle orientation.
*The direction of vehicle orientation is displayed on the alphanumeric digital display.
*The compass pointer also always points towards north when the External Temperature Mode and Voltage Mode are selected.
*The alphanumeric digital display can be set to indicate either 8 or 16 compass point.

  2. Compass (Set Bearing) Mode
*In this mode the compass pointer always points in a fixed direction selected by the user. In this mode, the circle is not displayed.
*The alphanumeric digital display can be set to indicate either 8 or 16 compass points.

EXTERNAL TEMPERATURE MODE
  In the external temperature mode, the external temperature is displayed in 1oC(-20oC to +50oC).
When the external temperature is less than -20oC
When the external temperature is more than +50oC
When the external temperature sensor is disconnected
When there is a short circuit

VOLTAGE MODE
  If voltage mode is selected, the voltage at the cigarette plug is displayed in 0.1V units(9.0V to 16.0V).
When the voltage is less than 9.0V
When the voltage is more than 16.0V
