How to wire the parking
brake
|
This control unit detects the condition of the parking brake and
suspends the operation of the timer in the following situations ;
*If the parking brake is not set, the timer does not function.
*If the parking brake is released during the operation of the timer,
the timer is turned off.
 |
If there is only one wire to the parking brake; |
| |
1. Remove any covers so that the parking brake
switch is accessible.
2. As there is a wire from the parking brake switch, connect
the blue wire from the After Idle Timer to that wire with a
solderless connector. |

 |
If there are two wires to the parking brake; |
| |
1. Push on the brake pedal when the ignition is
turned off.
2. Holding the brake pedal and using a volt meter, locate a
wire that reads 12V when the parking brake is released and that
reads about 0V when the parking brake is set.
3. Connect blue wires from the After Idle Timer to the wire
located above with a solderless connector.
Note: If your parking brake is located on the steering column
or a pedal type brake, the same wiring procedures apply. |
